The Role:
We’re looking for a Tax Accountant who loves working with numbers and thrives on accuracy and organization. You’ll prepare tax returns, assist with year-end reporting, and help clients with 1099s and trial balances. What You’ll Do:
• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, and/or payroll depending on role).
• Review financial records, statements, and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Research tax laws, regulations, and updates; ensure compliance with current tax codes.
• Analyze financial data to identify potential tax deductions and credits.
• Maintain organized and accurate tax files, records, and documentation.
• Assist with IRS and state audits; prepare documentation and respond to inquiries.
• Advise clients or internal teams on tax strategies, planning, and forecasting.
• Monitor deadlines to ensure all returns and payments are submitted on time.
• Collaborate with accounting staff and management to improve tax processes.
• Use tax software and accounting tools to prepare returns (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess, Drake, QuickBooks)
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation preferred but not required
• Solid understanding of tax rules and accounting principles
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Foundation and CCH Axcess) and Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communicator and team player
